Daniel Marx

Daniel Valentin Marx began playing the guitar at the age of seven in the Kreismusikschule Erding, and studied under Professor Roberto Aussel at the Musikhochschule of Cologne, graduating with honours in 2016.

Aged 17, Daniel debuted as a classical soloist, playing the guitar concertos of Vivaldi with the chamber orchestra of Erding. In addition, he has appeared on Bavarian national radio, the national radio of West-Germany and Radio Nacional Argentina among others. Thanks to a Thornton Scholarship, Daniel is carrying forward his studies at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and continues to work in numerous academies and masterclasses. His debut album will come out in 2018.

Dedicated to the discovery of new guitar music, Daniel is a founding member of the Cologne-based ensemble Electronic ID, and is also the artistic director of the guitar festival in his Bavarian hometown Dorfen and Artist in Residence at the Max Kade Institute in Los Angeles.
