Mark Braidner

One of the mainstays of the local blues scene, Mark Braidner is a superb guitarist and singer with a beautiful and authentic feel.

Mark is influenced primarily by the pre-war Delta Blues and Ragtime styles prevalent in the Southern States of America during the 1920’s and 30’s. As well as being blessed with a wonderful repertoire, he’s a great player, equally home on six- and twelve-string acoustic, resonator guitar and lap-style slide.

Among his favourite artists and influences are some of the greatest names of the genre – Charley Patton, Bo Carter and Blind Willie McTell. Mark will play solo in advance of the Crossroads movie, but will be joined by Michael Conway on drums and percussion for the post-film performance at the Ivy Bar.
