Avalon guitars are strummed by some of the biggest names in music. This unique tour provides visitors with an insight to the production line of the hand crafted guitar, as played by the likes of David Gray, Van Morrison, James Morrison, Katie Melua, Sinead O'Connor, Brian Kennedy, Bap Kennedy, 'The Boss' Bruce Springsteen...the list just goes on!

The guide will take you through the various sections of the factory demonstrating the step by step processes, from timber preparation to the stringing and tuning of the infamous Avalon guitar.

13th Annual Ards International Guitar Festival 2009. Friday 25th September 2009 - Sunday 4th October 2009. Festival Co-ordinators Emily Walsh Tania Lee Calvert. An ecclectic collection of performances, concerts, gigs by artists with a wide range of styles, genres, experience and sounds. Events include free concerts, competitions, workshops, tours and exhibitions. Venues all based in Newtownards including The Queens Hall, Ards Arts Centre, The Ivy Bar and Avalon Guitar Factory. Special performances, unique experiences. for friends, family - all ages all walks of life. Artists include Patricio Zeoli, Kelly Joe Phelps, the Classical Guitar Society, The Winding Stair, Jackson Cage, Siobhan Skates, The Carrivick Sisters, The Broken String Band and final act Warren Reid.
